Batalin–vilkovisky Formalism and Integration Theory on Manifolds
The correspondence between the BV-formalism and integration theory on supermanifolds is established. An explicit formula for the density on a Lagrangian surface in a superspace provided with an odd symplectic structure and a volume form is proposed.
متن کاملSymplectic Time-Stepping for Particle Methods
This paper surveys some of the fundamental properties of symplectic integration schemes for classical mechanics and particle methods in particular. The widely used Störmer-Verlet method is discussed in detail and implications of conservation of symplecticity on long term simulations are outlined. The second part of the paper describes the application of a Lagrangian particle method and the Stör...

In this paper, we investigate the connection between closed Newton-Cotes formulae, trigonometrically-fitted methods, symplectic integrators and efficient integration of the Schr¨odinger equation. The study of multistep symplectic integrators is very poor although in the last decades several one step symplectic integrators have been produced based on symplectic geometry (see the relevant lit...
متن کاملVariational Integrators and Time-dependent Lagrangian Systems
There are several numerical integration methods [16] that preserve some of the invariants of an autonomous mechanical system. In [8], T.D. Lee studies the possibility that time can be regarded as a bona fide dynamical variable giving a discrete time formulation of mechanics (see also [9, 10]). From other point of view (integrability aspects) Veselov [19] uses a discretization of the equations o...
متن کاملLagrangian intersections, 3-manifolds with boundary, and the Atiyah-Floer conjecture
Self-adjoint extensions of D correspond to Lagrangian subspaces of V and, moreover, the kernel of D determines such a Lagrangian subspace whenever D has a closed range. IfD is a symmetric differential operator on a manifold with boundary then, by partial integration, the form ω is given by an integral over the boundary. For example, if D is the Hessian of the symplectic action functional on pat...
